METAL MASSACRE is a feature length documentary that tells the story of one of the most influential albums in heavy metal history. The 1982 vinyl compilation Metal Massacre, brainchild of Los Angeles then-record shop buyer and fanzine publisher Brian Slagel, birthed the career of superstars Metallica, iconic metal bands including Black ‘n Blue and Ratt, and inspired the creation of the powerhouse indie label Metal Blade Records. No one expected the album to have the impact that followed. METAL MASSACRE takes you back to the moments that defined not only the history of the album, but the relationships between everyone involved. And it all started with two metal fans who had a blind belief in following their passion and how it’s effected and rubbed off on so many countless bands and fans around the world.
